West Ham lost against Everton (0-2) in a match in which the Spanish player played from the start, something that had not happened since December 2018 against Burnley.

Lucas returned to play as a starter for the first time in 2019 and against a rival that arrived at London Stadium with almost the same points as West Ham in the table. Both teams faced eachother in a match that was soon decided for the visitors.

The team led by Marco Silva went ahead in the fifth minute thanks to Zouma's header. Far from relaxing, the Toffees continued to approach Fabianski area and the second goal of the match arrived after a good play on the right side. Bernard scored the 0-2 after a center by Coleman.

Pellegrini decided to replace Lucas Pérez at the halftime. Chicharito, who came into the pitch instead of the Galician player, could not generate danger in a game in which the Hammers did not perform at their best level.

After this defeat, West Ham will face two tough away matches against Chelsea and Manchester United.
