The Londoners will play their first match of 2019 on Wednesday (19:45, local time) against Brighton Hove & Albion after losing Burnley (2-0) in the last day trying to take hold in the middle of the table.

After the defeat against Burnley on Sunday, the team led by Manuel Pellegrini wants to get the win in front of the fans to continue in a quiet position in the table. West Ham will try to show that the bad start of the league is a thing of the past and will play against a team that is only two points far from them.

Key players like Wilshere, Lanzini, Yarmolenko or Carlos Sánchez are out and cannot play against Brighton. Arnautovic, already recovered, should play. Lucas Pérez, who was a starter in the last match, is starting to get a place in the London team. In addition, Zabaleta will be available after not playing against Burnley.

They will face Brighton, a team that comes from defeating Everton and that could overtake the Londoners in the table in case of victory. Chris Hughton cannot count on Mat Ryan and Alireza Jahanbakhsh, both called with their national teams for the Asian Cup. Lucas Pérez will face Florin Andone, a former Deportivo footballer. Both played together for the Galician team.

In case of hammer victory, it would be the first time that West Ham defeat Brighton in the Premier League. They lost the three previous games played so far. In the first leg, the team led by Marc Hughes got the win (1-0) thanks to a goal from Glenn Murray.
