The Londoners started the year with a draw against Brighton (2-2) after turning around a game they started losing 0-2 and, after achieving one point, the team led by Pellegrini ended the day in tenth position.

With several changes in both teams, the game started with few chances for both squads. The locals dominated the first half, but they couldn't transform into danger the superiority with the ball. Arnautovic was the most dangerous player in the first half, but he could not connect to beat the rival keeper.

The tranquillity of the first half turned into the chaos in the second part: in just 12 minutes they scored four goals. Lucas Pérez, who was a starter in the two last games, jump into the field in the second half to replace Andy Carroll. The Spanish striker is already an important piece of Pellegrini's plans and the Chilean coach did not hesitate to put him on the field to look for a goal.

The first goal of the night was scored by Brighton and came after a corner kick in which Fabianski was not able to save his goal. The bad rejection of the Polish keeper was taken by Stevens who scored the 0-1. Two minutes later, the team led by Chris Hughton increased differences thanks to Duffy who scored the 0-2.

However, the Hammers reacted soon. A good pass from Noble was taken by Arnautovic who gave hope to the Londoners just eight minutes after the 0-2. The real delirium came when the Austrian player equalized the score. It was Michael Antonio who put a low ball in the area that the '7' sent to the goal.

Both team got a point in match that left great feelings. The Premier League will stop this weekend and West Ham will host Birmingham City in the third round of the FA Cup. They will play on Saturday at 12:30 (local time).
