The team led by Pellegrini won against Southampton (3-0) and achieved the second win in a row before facing the last Premier League match.

It was a comfortable match for West Ham. The Hammers got three points in a match they dominated from start to finish. They were rewarded as early as the 16th minute when Noble give a pass to Arnautovic. The Austrian player took a touch and slotted under the rival keeper to score the 1-0.

Michael Antonio was looking to score the second goal of the game but his low shoot was saved by Forster. Without any more chances in the first half, the game came to the halftime. In the second part, Southampton was looking for the tie. However, the Hammers began to find more space in the rival defense.

Arnautovic got his second of the game with 69 minutes on the clock, reacting fastest to nod home after Forster could only touch Michael Antonio's cross onto the Austrian striker. The team led by Pellegrini looked for the third goal and Fredericks put the ball into the box to close the game.

With the match already decided, the Chilean coach decided to move the bench and gave space to Lucas Pérez. The Galician player had virtually no time to enter the game in match that closed Hammers season at home.
